Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation: Global Vaccine Summit
This spring I traveled to Dubai for a month to visit my friend Deanna. Coincidentally, during the same time the Gates Foundation was co-hosting the Global Vaccine Summit in Abu Dhabi and I was asked to go down and help out for a few days. I’ve created a lot of designs for a variety of events over the years, but I rarely get to go to the actual events. This time I was in the back of the house helping to run Bill’s presentation. It was a tad nerve-racking, but I managed. The most challenging part of this project were the translations. It’s one thing working with Spanish or French, but when dealing with a language that is totally different from English, it’s a whole different ballgame. Luckily we had a translator there to check our work, and the show was a big success.

As you can imagine, the hotel hosting the Summit was quite fabulous. Marble everywhere. My room was on the 36th floor with an incredible view, and turn-down service included chocolate truffles. What more could a girl ask for?
