Center for Education Policy Research at Harvard University: Strategic Data Project 2012 Yearbook

As a freelance designer, I find that most clients come to me by referrals from friends or other clients (thank you friends and clients!). This is how I got hooked up with the Center for Education Policy Research at Harvard University. My long-time client, Education Pioneers, gave my name to one of their partners at the Strategic Data Project (SDP) and I had the pleasure of working on their 2012 SDP Fellow Yearbook, an 84 page perfect-bound book.

Housed at the Center for Education Policy Research at Harvard University, the Strategic Data Project (SDP) partners with school districts, charter school networks, and state education agencies to bring high quality research methods and data analysis to bear on strategic management and policy decisions. Their mission is to transform the use of data in education to improve student achievement.

Summer of 2012 was filled with weddings and I had the pleasure of designing invitations for two sets of very dear friends.

Design of elopement announcement/reception invitation with envelope and insert.

Design of save the date postcard, hand-assembled wedding invitation and inserts, wedding program, menus, and custom rubber stamp.

Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation: Reinvent the Toilet Fair

Design and layout of collateral for the ‘Reinvent the Toilet Fair’ held at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in August. Deliverables include a logo, web banners and promo tiles, email invitations, event programs, directional and exhibit signage, and award certificates.

The Reinvent the Toilet Fair showcased innovations from around the world that are creating a new vision for the next generation of sanitation.

Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation: London Summit on Family Planning

Design and layout of logo and event signage including stage graphics, registration signs, press backdrop, and directional signage.

The London Summit on Family Planning was a summit that hopes to mobilize global policy, financing, commodity, and service delivery commitments to support the rights of an additional 120 million women and girls in the world’s poorest countries to use contraceptive information, services and supplies, without coercion or discrimination. It was collaboration between the UK Government and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation with UNFPA and other partners.

Mishmash ART: Penland School of Crafts
